Review: Carol's Daughter Mimosa Hair Honey and Hair Milk Curl Definer

I heard of Carol's Daughter line of products several years ago, when there was a big boom of celebrities that begin to rave about and promote this line of hair, skin, and body products.
The brainchild of Lisa Price, who started making homemade essential oils and moisturizers in her kitchen at home, as gifts for friends.  Named for her mother,  Carol's Daughter products reputation begin to spread far beyond Lisa's kitchen.

According to her website (http://www.carolsdaughter.com), Carol's Daughter has been making natural beauty products for more than 20 years.  These products cater to a variety of skin and hair types.  For my part, I had not really paid much attention to the Carol's Daughter line of products.  My sister, who is a licensed hair stylist, called me one day urging me to try some of the CD hair line on myself and my daughter.

She cautioned me, however, that they were not cheap.  Now I'm all about savings, so I immediately balked, because I was fairly happy with the stuff I found for a few bucks at the local beauty supply.  Funny thing is, my sister is really cheap thrifty, when it comes to price tags.  So if she would spend the money, I figured it might be worth a try.

Two of the recommendations she made was to try happens to be two of CD best sellers and top rated products: Mimosa Hair Honey  (I just love the name) and Hair Milk Curl-Nourishing Original Curl Definer.  With both my daughter and I having naturally curly hair, I really wanted a good product to keep the frizzies away.

The Mimosa Hair Honey had a really nice and not overbearing scent.  It is more of a hair pomade to give your hair high shine, softness, and manageability. It comes in an 8 ounce container and retails for $17.00.  I LOVE this product! I actually use about a dime-size amount on my damp hair (you can use it on dry hair too) after a wash and before blow drying.  I could immediately tell a difference with the shine and the finish after drying it.

What I love most is that it moisturizes the scalp but does not give you that greasy look or feel.  Both my hair and my daughter's hair maintains a pretty shine for days.  For me, this product has been worth every penny.

I also purchased the Hair Milk Curl Definer.  This is supposed to boost the moisture and shine to curls and control frizz while making curly hair more manageable.  I bought this primarily for use on my daughter's hair, however, I have used it a couple of times myself.  I really love how this product controls my daughter's frizzy edges while giving her cute curls shine.  I have noticed that since using this product her hair is a lot more manageable.
I sprung for the larger size, 10 ounces, which is $20.  There is a 2 ounce container of the Hair Milk that is $9.

Overall, I was really impressed with the two products that I have tried.  I feel that they did as they were designed and described to do.  I will continue to use these two products and I would love to eventually try additional products for the hair, skin, and from the CD bath and body line.  You can purchase CD products online at the link above or at Sephora, both in stores and online.  You can also check the Carol's Daughter website for a store locator to find stores near you.
